The Chevrolet Silverado EV is becoming more affordable for 2026 and will introduce a new Trail Boss trim, expanding the model line to three options. While it remains expensive, the new options cut the starting price below $55,000 for the base Work Truck (WT) configuration, and some are eligible for federal tax credits. Chevy said the trucks will arrive on dealers’ lots starting this summer.
The 2026 Silverado EV WT now starts at $54,895 for the Standard 286-mile range model, a $2,000 drop from the year before. The midrange LT trim starts at $62,995 and offers 283 miles of range, and the Trail Boss model offers 410 miles of range for a base price of $72,095. All prices include a stout $2,095 delivery charge.
The Trail Boss’s range is impressive, especially considering it rides on 35-inch all-terrain tires and features a two-inch lift. It offers an exclusive Terrain driving mode at low speeds, which activates four-wheel steering and adjusts torque delivery and traction control at each wheel. With proper towing kit, the Trail Boss can pull up to 12,500 pounds.
Chevy updated the available Super Cruise system with a new hands-on feature. The system functions like adaptive cruise control, with the driver’s hands on the wheel until Super Cruise becomes available, and then alerts the driver with green lights on the steering wheel that it’s safe to go hands-off.
