Audi revealed the A7 as a sleek four-door liftback way back in 2010, but its days on sale are numbered. Neither it nor the sportier S7 will make it to 2026, as Audi said it is readying the new A6 as an indirect replacement.
An Audi spokesperson confirmed the move to Road & Track, saying, “There is no 2026 Model Year A7 or S7 as the model shifts to the new A6 TFSI coming later this year.” Audi was expected to shuffle its naming convention, which would have changed the A6 into the A7 for 2026, but that plan was abandoned.
Interestingly, the twin-turbocharged RS7 will remain on sale in 2026, but the A7 and S7’s departure comes after a decent sales year. The automaker saw a 48 percent increase in year-over-year sales during the first half of this year, though some of that could have been due to buyers rushing to beat tariffs.
Audi isn’t giving up on cars entirely. The A6 enters a new generation in 2026, receiving powerful engines and improvements to the RS6 Avant. The A4 is being phased out in favor of the A5, which follows the previously mentioned naming strategy, but no other models appear to be in the same boat.
