We spent some time on cheap cars today.
There are very few cheap cars now, and Mr. Guy laid out the reasons why. But with consumers likely tiring of sky-high MSRPs and average transaction prices, and with folks being squeezed elsewhere in their budget, there’s almost certainly an opportunity for any automaker who isn’t currently playing in the cheap segments.
So, will the OEMs who’ve abandoned the segment jump back? Will automakers who never bothered before come up with cheap sheetmetal?
