Another day, another Ford recall. This time, the Blue Oval is recalling more than 850,000 vehicles for an issue with the low-pressure fuel pump that could cause the engine to stall. The recall impacts several models from the 2021 through 2023 model years.

Affected models include:

  • 2021-2023 Ford Super Duty
  • 2021-2022 Lincoln Navigator
  • 2021-2023 Lincoln Aviator
  • 2021-2022 Ford Mustang
  • 2021-2023 Ford F-150
  • 2021-2023 Ford Explorer
  • 2022 Ford Expedition
  • 2021-2023 Ford Bronco

The low-pressure fuel pump in affected vehicles may fail due to internal contamination in the jet pump. A loss of fuel pressure can cause an engine stall and increase the chances of a crash. Drivers may notice poor engine performance or see a check engine light before a complete engine failure. Ford noted that the failure is more likely to happen in warm weather or during a low-fuel situation.

Ford said it had received 1,860 warranty claims related to the issue, but that it was unaware of accidents, injuries or property damage. The automaker is currently working on a fix for the defect and said that owners would be notified by mid-July. Once the remedy is ready, dealers will fix the problem at no cost to owners.

Unfortunately for Ford, this is just another recall in its pile. The automaker has recorded dozens so far in 2025, putting it on track to be one of the most recalled car companies of the year – again.
