Whether it is a Slurpee, a Big Gulp or even some of those tasty mini tacos, 7-Eleven is America’s iconic convenience store. The store’s recent partnership is more than just a pit stop on that next road trip. It secures the pole position with fans of all ages.
Brands continually look to find authentic partnerships that resonate with their fans. 7-Eleven has evolved beyond just the quick stop where people grab a drink and a bite for a road trip, on the way to work or just because. The latest collaboration drives home a nostalgia vibe while still zooming into the next trend.
In a recent announcement, 7-Eleven shared that it is collaborating with Hot Wheels. The exclusive 7-Eleven x Hot Wheels collection is more than just a toy or a matchbox car for a kid. It crosses into several fandoms.
The items include the first-ever branded Hot Wheels die-cast car, 7-Eleven Themed Hot Wheels Skate and various branded merchandise. The special die-cast car is a Silver Series Toyota Supra. The 90s inspired offering has iconic 7-Eleven imagery and styling.

According to Marissa Jarratt, Executive Vice President and Chief Marketing & Sustainability Officer at 7-Eleven, Inc., “We’re excited to partner with Hot Wheels, another iconic brand that, like 7-Eleven, has fueled imaginations and created lasting memories for generations. Whether you grew up racing Hot Wheels cars or grabbing a Slurpee drink after school, this collaboration kicks things into high gear by bringing together two culture-shaping brands to create something nostalgic, unexpected and undeniably fun for all ages.”
The new items showcase how 7-Eleven connects with shoppers beyond the convenient grab and go food and beverage purchase. Fans cheer for each new launch. Recently, the company has celebrated skate culture, car culture and food fashion fandoms. People happily wear that logo while sipping a Slurpee.

This offering comes after the successful Jurassic World partnership. From the specialty beverages to the limited-edition merchandise, people sprinted to stores to grab these items both before and after watching the movie.
While many people will appreciate these collectibles, it would have been nice to see 7-Eleven expanded the collection into the beverage space. Given Hot Wheels and skate culture’s popularity, a themed Slurpee, beverage or even snack crossover would have make this offering even more successful. Maybe that option will roll out soon.
