Used Car of the Day: 2008 Volkswagen Beetle EV

by

That headline is NOT incorrect — today’s UCOTD is a 2008 Volkswagen Beetle EV.

Yes, I know, the Beetle was not available as an EV. At least not from the factory. Read on.

This one is a Canadian car that has been converted to electric by its owner. It has regenerative braking, Chevrolet Volt battery packs, and a lot more. The seller has spare batteries, as well.

The car looks pretty clean.

If you’re interested in this, you can click here for details, but it does appear getting this car from Canada to the States might be tricky.

The asking price is CA $10,000 and the car is for sale in British Columbia.
