A New South Wales teenager has had her car impounded and licence suspended after police caught her excessively speeding not once or twice, but three times on the same day.
On April 12, police received multiple reports of dangerous driving on the Hume Highway in Gunning, with Traffic and Highway Patrol Command officers soon after detecting a car allegedly travelling above the 110km/h speed limit.
The 19-year-old was found to be holding a P2 provisional license (green P-plates), which limits drivers to a top speed of 100km/h.
She received an infringement notice for exceeding the speed limit by more than 20km/h, but it wasn’t going to be the last time she was stopped on the day.

Just an hour later, Highway Patrol officers were conducting patrols on the Hume Highway in Tumblong when they allegedly detected the same driver travelling at 215km/h – a huge 105km/h above the 110km/h speed limit.
The woman was once again stopped, and this time issued with a court attendance notice for driving recklessly/furiously or at a speed/in a manner dangerous, as well as exceeding the speed limit by more than 45km/h.
As a result, her licence was suspended and the vehicle’s number plates confiscated for three months. But the story doesn’t end there.
Three hours later she was stopped for a third time after being allegedly detected at 201km/h on the Hume Highway in Table Top.
This time, she was arrested and taken to Albury police station, where she was charged with driving recklessly/furiously or at a speed/in a manner dangerous, exceeding the speed limit by more than 45km/h, driving while her licence was suspended, driving a car with confiscated number plates, and tampering with a number plate confiscation notice.
For the later offence, she was granted conditional bail to appear in Albury Local Court on April 30, while for the 215km/h blast she was summoned to appear in Gundagai Local Court on June 13.
