Ford is recalling over 400 examples of its Mustang and Mustang Mach-E as their headlights mightn’t work properly.

“Due to a programming issue, the Light Emitting Diode Driver Control Module (LDM) may fail,” the company says in its recall notice.

“As a result, high beam, low beam, position lamps and daytime running lamps may not operate as intended.

“Note: A warning message and turn signal indicator will fast flash in the instrument panel cluster.

“Lighting features not operating as intended may reduce the driver’s visibility. Additionally, other road users may be unable to identify the vehicle in dark conditions increasing the risk of an accident causing serious injury or death to vehicle occupants and/or other road users.

“Vehicles are not compliant with Australian Design Rule (ADR) 46/00 – Headlamps, ADR 47/00 – Retroreflectors, ADR 49/00 – Front and Rear Position (Side) Lamps, Stop Lamps and End Outline Marker Lamps and ADR 50/00 – Front Fog Lamps.”

  • A total of 452 Mustang and Mustang Mach-E vehicles are affected, produced in 2025
  • The Vehicle Identification Number (VIN) list is attached here
  • The original recall notice is attached here

If you own an affected vehicle, you’ll need to schedule an appointment with an authorised Ford dealership to have the work carried out, free of charge.
